The Low Volume Air Sampler (LVAS) is an
instrument used for collecting ambient airborne particulate matter samples at a low and constant ?ow rate.
Under the U.S. EPA Federal Reference Method (FRM) for PM2.5 (40 CFR Part 50, Appendix L)
and PM10 (40 CFR Part 50, Appendix J), ambient air is drawn through a size-selective inlet at a nominal ?ow rate
of approximately 16.67 L/min for a 24-hour sampling period.
The particulate matter used to calculate the concentration of particulate matter in ambient air.
